Judge's Critiques

Thank you to the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge their Open Show, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Thank you to the exhibitors for a lovely entry and to my two stewards for helping to keep everything running smoothly for me.

 

PD 4 (2) 1.Braddon’s Trendlewood Born to Run, 9 month old yellow boy, I liked his head with kind expression, neat ear set and good pigmentation. Plenty of bone with good depth to chest, correct front with neat feet, level topline flowing through to otter tail. In good coat.  Gave his owner a hard time but once settled moved very well. 2. Hext’s  Deerbroook Maximus, 9 month black dog, nice head, good length and depth to muzzle. Pleasing reach of neck, nice turn of stifle and good width to second thigh, hocks well let down. Moved well.

 

JD 5 (1) 1. Bambrook’s Marshwiggle Shakespeare at Ravoakar 14 month old yellow dog I have judged before as a puppy and he is coming on nicely.  Kind head with eager to please expression, nice shape and colour to eye. Good reach of neck, well off for bone, short coupled with nice turn of stifle. In good coat.  Moved well.  2. Ludlow’s Saranden Rock A Scott, slightly bigger dog than 1,pleasing head with nice pigmentation and neat ear set.  Good neck and shoulder placement, nice topline and tailset.  Coat of good texture. Moved soundly. 3. Hynd & Johnson’s  Maysborn Samurai.

 

MD 3.1. Braddon’s Trendlewood Born to Run, 2. Hext’s Deerbrook Maximus, 3. Ludlow’s Rock A Scott.

 

ND 1. Ludlow’s Rock A Scott 2. Chapman’s Woolman Proper Cracker At Daisypatch 2 year old yellow dog with lovely head and kind expression. Straight front leading to neat feet, well up on his pasterns. Well boned, ribs well sprung, nice turn of stifle.  In good coat, held his topline as he moved around the ring.

 

TD 2 (1) 1. David’s Tie n Tails Yellow boy with nice head and good width to skull with defined stop, good length and width to muzzle. Well balanced, adequate bone, short coupled.  Good coat and tailset. Moved ok.

 

UG 3. 1.Price’s Rowanhol London Welsh 2 year old yellow with a masculine head yet gentle expression who used his ears well.  Nice reach of neck, good angulations front & rear, short coupled with well muscled rear end. Coat on the blow but enough to see of good texture.  Moved well.2. White’s Stourmere’s Special Gift Pour Roboshalee smaller yellow dog than 1, nice head, pleasing reach of neck flowing through his topline and good tailset. Correct front, short coupled in good coat.  Moved ok. 3.  David’s Linjor Tie n Tails.

 

PG 8 (3) 1. Harvey Major& Bambrook’s Linjor Sessile Oak at Ravoakar ShCM  4 year old yellow boy masculine head with melting expression.  Well balanced with good reach neck.  Strong topline, good width to second thigh, hocks well let down. In good coat

Moved out well. 2. Phillips’ Sheenaron Merry Charleston 2 year old black dog with kind head complimented by his eye shape and colour.  Well angulated front down to neat feet, well sprung ribs, nice turn of stifle. Coat of good texture. Moved well. 3. Moody’s Trendlewood Mr Blue Sky.

 

LD.9(3) 2 very nice dogs headed this class who both moved very well. 1. Cary’s Aquadell Montgomery black dog I have judged before.  He presents a clean outline, he has a masculine head with kind expression. Good reach of neck, correct shoulder placement, well angled front and rear, strong topline which he held on the move. Well off for bone. In good coat finished off with well clothed otter tail. Moved with drive from strong hocks. RBD 2. Barker’s Deerbrook Millionheir 5 year old yellow I liked his head,  gentle eager to please expression. Good length of leg and depth to chest, short coupled with nice turn of stifle and good width to second thigh. Coat of good texture. Moved with drive.

 

OD 5 (3) 1. Harvey Major& Merrill’s Linjor The Squire JW Upstanding yellow dog, broad skull with kind expression and good width and length to muzzle. Well constructed front, strong reach of neck, leading into well  placed shoulders, ribs well sprung, powerful back end enabling him to power round the ring with ease.. In good coat. BD BIS 2.Ludlow’s Roboshalee First Gunner 4th in strong Limit class black dog of smaller build, nice head with defined stop. Straight front leading to neat feet, well boned, good spring of rib with nice turn of stifle. Correct coat and otter tail. Moved ok.

 

V D/B 7 (3)  2 very nice veterans headed this class 1. Stewart’s Sh Ch Streamanda Top Knotch  well balanced 7 year old yellow dog with masculine head and kind expression. Good reach of neck flowing into level topline with tail straight off back. Nice angulated front and rear well barrelled ribs, well muscled quarters enabling him .to move freely around the ring. In good coat. 2.Braddon’s Trendlewood Snowman another very nice yellow dog, pleasing head and expression with correct eye shape and colour.  Clean neck, well off for bone, short coupled with good width to second thigh. Correct otter tail coming off level topline. Coat of good texture. Moved soundly.3. Mills’ Trendlewood Sing at Jaybec

 

MPB 3 (1) 1. King’s Mikmaklabs Waits For The Sun 6 month old black puppy just right for age. Pretty head with nice eye and colour, clean through neck, good depth to chest, short coupled with nice bend of stifle. In good coat with otter tail to match. 2. Millward’s Snowy Steffi at Rentas  8 month old yellow pleasing head with good pigmentation and good length to muzzle.Level topline and tailset with hocks well let down. Moved well.

 

PB 7 (3) 1. Harvey Major’s Linjor With Attitude 9 month old nice yellow puppy with the loveliest of heads.  Good reach of neck, well placed shoulders, level topline and tailset.  Well boned, correct front & rear angulations, up on pasterns, shown in good condition. Moved very well. BPB. 2. King’s Mikmaklabs WaitsFor the Sun. 3. Tatchell’s .Smokeycot Gemstone Glory.

 

JB 6 (1) not much to choose between these two litter sisters  1. Price’s Rowanhol Sweet Sorento Moon 14 month old yellow bitch with the prettiest of heads. Clean in neck, good lay of shoulder, well boned legs with neat feet. Correct front assembly, ribs well sprung, short coupled. Coat of good texture. Moved soundly. 2. Bishop’s Rowanhol Star Edition at Brynlluan similar attributes apply. Liked her head with nice eye shape and colour. Pleasing neck, well angulated front and rear, well balanced. In good coat. Moved well.

 

MB 4 (1) 1. Harvey Major’s Linjor With Attitude. 2. Kings Mikmaklabs Cheyenne  well balanced 2 year old with lovely head and nice dark eye.  Good straight front leading into neat feet, nice depth and width to chest, short coupled with good second thigh. Double coat with nice otter tail to finish. Moved out well. 3. Evans’ Rowanhol Back to Black at Bowsian

TYRO. 2  1. Millward’s Snowy Steffi at Rentas. 2. Evan’s Saranden Amahami at Bowsian I liked the clean lines on this black, pleasing reach of neck flowing through to firm topline and good tailset.  Nice front down to neat feet.  In good coat. Moved well.

 

 

UGB 4 (2) 1.Tatchell’s Smokeycot Ebony Daydreamer black bitch with feminine  head and sweet expression.  Clean through neck, level topline, deep through chest with nice length of leg, stood on neat tidy feet. Moved soundly. 2. King’s Mikmaklabs Apache well balanced bitch with pretty head, good pigment, well set ears and kind eye. Well off for bone, good angulations front and rear, short coupled with nice width to second thigh. Moved out well.

 

PGB 5(1 Two very nice bitches headed this class 1. Bishop & Essenhigh’s Brynlluan Star Turn substantial yellow bitch who was full of herself today. She has a lovely head, dark eye and good pigmentation. Lovely reach of neck flowing into strong topline, well sprung ribs, well muscled hindquarters. In good coat. Moved out well covering the ring with ease.RBB 2. Braddon’s Trendlewood Strange Magic yellow with gentle feminine head and kind expression. Good reach of neck, well angled front and rear, short coupled, nice turn of stifle with hocks well let down.  In good coat and moved with drive.3. King’s Mikmaklabs Apache.

 

LB. 2 1. Phillips’ Carpenny Velvet at Sheeraron  well balanced yellow bitch built on clean lines  Pretty head with nice eye shape and colour, good neck and shoulder placement, nice depth of body, ribs well sprung, good second thigh, level topline which she held on the move as she moved effortlessly around the ring. 2. King’s Meadlowline Morning Glory to Mikmaq slightly heavier bitch than 1 liked her kind head with good dark eye giving a lovely expression.  Well boned, deep through body, level topline through to ever wagging tail. Well muscled hindquarters enabling her to move easily around the ring.

 

OB 2 (1) Braddon’s Trendlewood Love Chronicle substantial yellow bitch with pretty head and melting expression. Strong neck flowing through to her firm topline and tailset. Good depth and width to chest, good spring of rib, short coupled, plenty of bone. Coat on the blow but enough to see it was of correct texture. Good driving movement BB & RBIS

 

 Brace 4 (1) 1.King’s brace – 2 lovely yellow bitches mother & daughter very alike with nice heads looked good together, in good coat moved very well. 2.Barkers yellows handsome half-brothers, showed and moved well together.
